Julia Bishop-Taylor, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner


 

     Julia Bishop-Taylor has her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and is a ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  She is a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University for both her masters and doctoral work. As part of her doctoral work she completed dual residencies at Tuality Center for Geriatric Psychiatry and at Providence ElderPlace, where she gained expertise in assessment and management of mental health issues in adults over 65 years old.

     She works with adults of all ages who are experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, benzodiazepine (Xanax, Ativan, Klonipin, Ambien) substance use disorder, co-morbid physical illness and cognitive impairment. Prior to creating Counterbalance Psychiatry, she worked at Valueris Psychiatric Services.   She, her husband and her Chihuahua live in the Portland Metro area.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching BBC detective shows, cooking new plant based recipes,  and enjoy exploring the natural beauty of Oregon.
